Body-based Counseling & Dance/Movement Therapy

LPC Supervision & Consultation for
Somatic Counseling & Sex Therapy

Whether you're a new therapist working toward your LPC, a seasoned counselor looking for consultation, or a professional in a related field looking for specialized insights, I can support your professional growth. I love teaching, guiding, and helping people hone their personally resonant (and clinically effective) approach as therapists. To put it another way, as a supervisor, I see my job as to support you in developing your clinical skills and professional identity in a way that is uniquely yours, and to offer you my own perspectives on body-based mindfulness and somatic &/or sex therapy skills

Services I offer:

  • Clinical Supervision for LPCCs in Colorado (Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates)
    • This is an ongoing, contractual form of supervision reserved for LPCCs in Colorado, who are working towards their Licensed Professional Counselor application.

    • I am qualified to provide LPC Clinical Supervision by satisfying the requirements laid out by the State of Colorado, which requires high levels of qualifications for LPC Supervisors.

      • These include being a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, having at least 3,000 hours of postgraduate clinical experience, engaging in ongoing continuing education in clinical supervision topics, and completing specific specialized training recognized by the Department of Regulatory Agencies in Colorado.

  • Specialized consultation for licensed professionals and providers in related fields
    • This can be ongoing or one-time, depending on your goals for consultation.

    • Consultation is for people who do not need supervised hours towards LPC licensure, such as:

      • already-licensed Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists

      • those in related fields, such as psychiatry, gynecology, pelvic floor PTs, pre- and post-natal birth doulas, massage and other touch-based providers, public and private school health teachers, and more.

Here, I'll mainly speak to my role as an LPC Supervisor. When we work together, it's a collaborative process – as a team, you and I will explore your goals for supervision, your areas for growth, and your known superpowers as a therapist. I may take on the roles of educator, consultant, and guide, depending on what you need at the time.

My style is both practical and exploratory – we may focus on practicing your initial consultation skills in one meeting, explore your fears and hopes as a new therapist in the next, and go over specific somatic or sex therapy interventions the time after that. Therapists wear many hats, so I believe their supervisors should too!

My work as a therapist is informed by my training in somatic therapy, dance/movement therapy, sex therapy (especially Somatic-Concentric Sex Therapy), mindfulness, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), somatic trauma resolution (drawing on parts work, principles of somatic experiencing, and nervous system regulation skills), and multicultural competency, especially with queer, non-monogamous, and kinky clients. I have been practicing therapy in private practice since 2017, with both individuals and couples, and have been working in the mental health field since 2013. I regularly lead workshops with couples, as well as assist in twice-annual professional trainings for therapists, in Somatic-Concentric Sex Therapy with Melissa Walker. I have also served as a clinical assistant for Katie Asmus's Somatic Soul-based Trauma Training. Public speaking and performance is a skill of mine, as well as organization, marketing and business process flows. I'm happy to contribute any of my skillsets to our work together!

I would love to hear more about what you're hoping for in supervision, or what type of consultation you're looking for. Please feel free to send me a message to set up a free, 20-minute consultation, to see if I'm the right fit for you.
